Miller TKD Secures Darbys Sponsorship



The Commercial
Litigation team at Darbys Solicitors, Oxford,
is providing Miller Tae Kwon-Do with financial support, for their participation
in
UK
and international events including the European Championships in Croatia during
May / June 2008.
Henry Mendus, Head of Commercial Litigation at the firm,
presented a cheque to Kirsty Miller at their offices in
New Inn Hall Street.
Henry said: “We are proud to team-up with this group, not only because it promotes
fitness and strength of character. As litigators, we have much in common with these
fighters, as perseverance and indomitable spirit are fundamental to Tae Kwon-Do.
What’s more, we are keen to support members of our community and to see that Gary
and his team excel in the future.”

2008 English Open K2 Crawley
RTA Didcot and
Oxford University Taekwon-Do both had resounding success at the English Open Championships
at K2 Crawley. Didcot powered their way to 14 gold 2 silver and 13 bronze medals.
For Didcot TKD
Ricky De Winton
led the way with 2 Gold & 2 Bronze medals.
Carl Davis, Phillipa Pearce
and Alison Fisher also won 2 Gold. Oxford
University student
Valentina Iotchkova
went one better winning 3 Gold medals and the overall black belt champion prize.
Other Gold medal winners were Kirsty Miller, Faye Miller,
Liam Jones,
Paris Carbonari , Sami McPherson and James Pearce.

Success at UKTA 2008 Black
Belt Grading
Five members
from RTA Didcot and Oxford University were just part of the 62 Instructors and students
who have successfully passed thier Black Belt Grading under the watchful eye of
GM Rhee Ki Ha in Glasgow over the weekend of 7th - 9th March. More than 110 UKTA
members attended the pre-grading training course.

RTA Didcot) succeeded in promotion to Il Dan (1st Dan).

Grading & Seminar March 2008
Senior Master
John Williamson VIII from Elgin in Scotland presided over the area seminar and coloured
belt grading at Wallingford on Sunday 2nd March. This was the first visit to the
Oxfordshire Area by Master Williamson. Promoted RTA Didcot members were;Don Ward 1st
Kup, Maciek Morozow 2nd Kup, Andy Strong 3rd Kup, Russell Brady 3rd Kup, Pippa Pearce
3rd Kup, James Pearce 6th Kup, Martin Wren 9th Kup.
