ITF 40th Anniversary

Grandmaster Rhee continues his seminar trail around the world. At the end of April he conducted the first ever ITF International Course in Northern Ireland. This has been followed in May by a visit to Beijing, China and Pyong Yang, North Korea accompanied by Master Tim Helstrip VII & Mr Andrew Rhee VII

The Welsh Open is confirmed as the 27th May in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff (Welsh National Sports Centre) RTA Didcot will be represented by 18 competitors. Good luck.

Master Kim Ung Chol in France

Master Miller was accompanied to France by Richard De Winton & Carl Davis to share the chance to train with one of the finest Korean Masters based in Europe. 74 members from France, England, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Holland attended this course, held in La Mure in the French Alps.

The event comprised of two 3 hour sessions per day. Subjects covered were stretching, warm up, fundamental movements, patterns, grab releases and defence against a knife attack.

Other Senior Instructors present were Mr Andrew Whiteley VI (Reading), Mr Paul Harris V (Leicester) & Mr Paul Knighton V (Derby).

Competitions

The Scottish Open took place on Saturday 18th March at the Gorbals Leisure Centre in Glasgow. RTA Didcot had 5 members taking part in 11 categories, with fantastic results:


Richard De Winton  - Gold in Pattern, Sparring and Breaking, plus overall Black Belt champion.
Carl Davis                - Gold in Pattern & Sparring
Don Ward                 - Bronze in Sparring
Nicola Maytum         - Silver in Sparring, Bronze in Pattern (Entering her first competition).

 

 

Rebecca Ward completed our attendance.

Master Kim Ung Chol in France

At the end of April Richard De Winton & Carl Davis will
accompany Master Miller to Grenoble, France for a two day course with Master Kim Ung Chol VIII. Master Kim has just been appointed as Chairman of ITF Tournament Committee & is a former leader of the Korean Demonstration Team.

Seminars

A reminder that all students must attend an area seminar every six months.

New costs in 2006 will give 1 hour for those aged -13 yrs at a cost of 15. All other students will receive a 2 hour seminar at 18.

When grading please ensure you supply your blue record book & payment of 15.00 Children or 18.00 for those aged 13 years +.
