Taekwon-Do was founded on 11th April 1955 by General Choi Hong Hi (1918 – 2002).
 
The ITF was founded on 22nd March 1966.
 
The UKTA was founded in 1968 after TKD was formally introduced into the United Kingdom by Grandmaster Rhee Ki Ha on 2nd July 1967.
 
The Instructor for RTA Didcot & Oxford University is Master Gary Miller 7th Dan, Sa Hyun nim
 
1st, 2nd, and 3rd Dan instructors are classed as Bo Sabum nim.
4th, 5th, and 6th Dan International instructors are classed as Sabum nim.
7th Dan is Master, Sahyun nim.
8th Dan is Senior Master, Sonim Sahyun          
9 th Dan is Grandmaster, Sasung nim.
 
An OBVERSE technique is performed using the arm on the same side as the leg which is most bent.
A REVERSE technique is performed using the arm on the same side as the leg which is least bent.
 
If the left leg is most bent then it is a left stance, if the right leg is most bent, then it is a right stance.
 
Saju Jirugi and Saju Makgi are exercises, they are NOT patterns.
 
White belt signifies innocence as that of a beginning student who has no previous knowledge of the art.
